Prenolepis imparis doesn't occur in Malaysia that I know of. Though there seems to be an undescribed species simply refereed to as called Prenolepis my01 (for lack of a better name... or info in general).

There is little work done to fully identify the ants and termites for this location. Being not the authority on these insects identification I relied on the works of others such as antweb, antbase, termiteworld and some local myrmecologists. That said the sorting out of all the duplications and miss identifications are still being undertaken by several notable dedicated myrmecologists. Personally I have come across ants and termites that have not being identified but the scope of my work is to document those that I have come across not necessarily to correctly identifying them as my limited resources does not allow. I am indeed very grateful to all who wrote me and posted comments on this blog.
ReplyDeletei must say ants are more hard working than human being..
ReplyDeleteThis species of ant is only active during the winter months, when most other ants would be hibernating.
