Euprenolepis

Euprenolepis is a fungus harvesting ant that is mostly nocturnal. Euprenolepis procera is trimorphic and polygynous. Minor workers of Euprenolepis procera looks like those of the black crazy ants Paratrechina longicornis but are much larger. Though many species of ants (among other arthropods) feed on fungi, Euprenolepis procera appears to harvest and feed on them almost exclusively. This predominantly nocturnal ant looks like a large version of Paratrechina longicornis. Their nesting preferences is more similar to Paratrechina longicornis and Anoplolepis.
