Mirocapritermes

Mirocapritermes sp. is another member of the Termes group which uses mandible flicks as the defense mechanism deployed by the soldiers. The mandibles of Mirocapritermes are shaped very similar to those of the Termes genus while the head capsule is shaped like it is a transition of Homallotermes and Procapritermes but with a slight frontal projection similar to though much less pronounced then the Termes genus.

In Mirocapritermes the frontal projection protrusion is not as noticeably protruding from, almost flush with, the frontal head capsule when viewed laterally.

This projection appears as a very discernible bum stretching from slightly (1/4 length of the head capsule) after the posterior of the head.

Pseudoneoponera tridendata

Pseudoneoponera (alias Pachycondyla) tridendata variant exasperans are large ants that are found only in forest. At over 17 millimeters this is one of the larger Pseudoneoponera species. Pseudoneoponera tridentata is monomorphic.
