Odontotermes sp6

This small 6 millimeters (length of soldiers) Odontotermes species has a more tear shape head than the typical Odontotermes which have more or less rectangular shaped heads. Like most species of the Odontotermes genus the soldier caste is monomorphic while the workes are dimorphic. Odontotermes is identified by the characteristic 'tooth' on the left mandibles of the soldiers. This is the 'third type' of Odontotermes genus. The soldiers of this 'third type' has the least rectangular head, the head tapering fairly sharply from the back towards the front.
