Homallotermes sp

Homallotermes species resembles Termes rostratus unless view more closely where the missing frontal projection would then be obvious. Further the mandibles are longer and the left mandible is slightly curved rightwards and upwards (in the middle half section from the base) as is typical of Procapritermes. Other than the head color, the significantly smaller head capsule (proportionately) of the soldier might suggest this as a sot of transitional species of Procapritermes and Mirocapritermes.

While some termites genera are common throughout this location, others are either rare or the numbers of species (meaning the species that appeared to be very closely related) are few. Of the Termes group, Pericapritermes and Termes genera seemed to the most successful, very commonly found in areas where there are sufficient vegetation cover. Other genera (meaning the species that appeared to be very closely related) like Procapritermes and Dicuspiditermes are common but only in forest type environment. Others still such as Homallotermes, Kemneritermes and Capritermes even when they are found in forest type environment, the density of nests and the number of related species (in the genus) are few.
