Schedorhinotermes sp

This species of Schedorhinotermes is larger than the first species posted earleir on this blog. The head capsule shape of both the major and minor soldier also differ slight from the first species.

Leptogenys sp

The Leptogenys genus is another genus that is considered to be army ants having the characteristic foraging and hunting behavior typified by the Dorylus army ants. This eighth specimen encountered (by this author) is 6.5 millimeter in length.

Pericapritermes sp

This is a slightly larger Pericapritermes species, the soldiers measuring at over 7.5 millimeters. The most common size of this species is between 6 millimeters to 7 millimeters. The head of this species is also relatively shorter (and broader) than the typical species.

Tetramorium sp

This Tetramorium species (sp10) is the smallest I encountered, measuring at 2.3 millimeters. Unless examine closely it may easily be mistaken for Cardiocondyla (see last photo in this post). Cardiocondyla is a species of tiny ants mostly below 2 millimeters in total length.
