Camponotus sp

Camponotus sp(12) is an average size species (about the size of Camponotus parius) with the major worker measuring at 9 millimeters. This is a quad morphic species with two major worker caste and two minor (one minor one median) worker caste.

This is a large group that consist of at least four very similar (morphologically) species differentiate mostly by their sizes.

Polyrhachis bihamata

Polyrhachis bihamata is closely related to Polyrhachis ypsilon. Both these species have very prominent spines. The spines on the petiole are especially pronounced.

Polyrhachis bihamata is more bronze in color while Polyrhachis ypsilon is golden. In Polyrhachis ypsilon the petiole node's spines separate into 2 hooked ends right from the middle whereas in this species the separation is nearer the ends.

Polyrhachis bihamata at 10 millimeters TL (total length) is also noticeably smaller than Polyrhachis ypsilon at 15 centimeter (TL).
