This Labritermes species is a tiny species with soldiers measuring at around 3 millimeters and the workers at around 2 millimeters total length (TL) making it one of the smallest of termite species. It is common to find Labritermes termite species nesting among degraded Dicuspiditermes nest structure. Labritermes emersoni and Labritermes kistneri have a relatively shorter (and horizontally thicker head capsule) head capsule against Labritermes buttelreepeni (head length to head width ratio). Both this species have a head capsule that is less than twice as long as it is broad whereas Labritermes buttelreepeni (further down this page) has a head capsule that is twice as long aside from from having a more rectangular head. In Labritermes kristneri the head capsule tapers and is more rounded at both the posterior and the anterior.
