Pseudolasius

Pseudolasius are eyeless blind ants that are mostly subterranean (or at lest those from this location anyway) rarely coming to the ground surface. This species is monomorphic and looks fairly like a termite worker view from top except for the very giveaway coloration.

Looking fairly similar to a termite worker this species was contextually living with Longipeditermes longipes whose soldier shoots out a strong turpentine smelling liquid as defense.
