Brachyponera sp

This is one of the smallest species of this genus I encountered so far (as at 2022 C.E.). Both queen or gyne and the monomorphic workers are around the same size at 3 millimeters. The queen is just slightly bulky (thicker) and nominally large (or longer).

Mesoponera sp

Brachyponera sp

Brachyponera sp(05) is a small species with workers measuring 3 mm. This species previously under the Pachycondyla genus is now under the genus Brachyponera.

Leptogenys sp

Leptogenys sp(13) is a medium size species. As typical of this genus of army ants, this species is monomorphic.

Mesoponera sp

With the redefinition of the Pachycondyla genus (2014 C.E.). This mid size species now belongs to the Mesoponera genus. Similar with most species of this genus, this species are mostly subterranean rarely coming out of its tunneling during the day. The above ground forays are usually at night.

The workers measured at around 10 millimeters (also the queen).

Leptogenys sp

Leptogenys sp03 is among one of the largest of the Leptogenys genus in this location. Mostly subterranean in their day time foraging, this species is of the second slower running, shorter limbs type.
